Breast Implants

Demand dictates supply and a growing number of plastic surgeons with new techniques and material for breast augmentation are stepping up to the plate. In fact, breast implants are becoming the “unwrappable” gift of choice for some parents, boyfriends, husbands or sometimes even a gift to yourself.

Breast augmentation is not cheap, and unless it’s part of reconstructive surgery for breast cancer or injury, insurance probably won’t cover it- which means the costs will be out of pocket.

Medical Costs

  • Anesthesia Fee: $600-$800 (varies by type of anesthesia used)
  • Facility Fee: $800-$1,200 (varies by office and hospital)
  • Surgeon’s Fee: $3,000-$4,000 (breast implants costs are normally included in surgeon’s fees)

Surgeon’s fees vary by region, skill, and type of implant (saline or silicone gel) and method of placement used. Silicone breast implants are generally about $1,000 more in total costs.

Potential extra costs to consider are prescriptions, medical testing, post-surgical exams (some surgeons do not include these in surgical fee).

Breast Implant Removal Surgical Fee is about $1,000, removal only, plus above facility and anesthesia fees, or around $3,000.

Corrective Surgery is usually about the same as, if not more than the original surgery.
